Kaya van Beynen

Librarian, Library Research and Instruction

As liaison to the College of Education, Kaya provides instruction, research, and collection management support to Education students and faculty.  Kaya also coordinates marketing for library events, orientations, promotional materials, and student and faculty research talks. Additionally, she manages library assessment activities to continually adapt to the needs, perceptions, and satisfaction of the students, faculty, and community of the Nelson Poynter Memorial Library.

Before becoming a librarian, she earned a Masters in Geography from McMaster University and worked as a researcher at McMaster University, the Smithsonian Institution, and the Hispanic Health Council.  Her research interests are interdisciplinary to the fields of geography and library science and focus on karst, visitor studies, and communities of practice.
