Online Learning: Quality Matters Certification

Quality Matters (QM) is a faculty centered, peer review process designed to certify the quality of online and blended courses. The QM process reviews course design using the following eight standards: Course Overview and Introduction, Learning Objectives, Assessment and Measurement, Instructional materials, Learner Interaction and Engagement, Course Technology, Learner Support, and Accessibility.

USF St. Petersburg is a QM subscriber and encourages all faculty instructing online or blended courses to participate in this prestigious peer review process. Certified courses receive national recognition in an online database for distance education. Instructional Designers at Distance Learning and Instructional Media Services are available to work with faculty in preparation for QM review.
